Review of Laguna Beach Resort

Room: 4 out of 5 (Still ok but the furniture need to refurbish. The bathroom is very nice but slighly small. The aircond is not very cold. Mama woke up sweating in the middle of the night).

Service: 4 out of 5

Value: 3.5 out of 5 (With 3561 baht, mama expect more)

Cleanliness: 4 out of 5 (housekeeping clean up twice a day)

Pool: 5 out of 5 (Huge, fun and nice but no toy toy for me)

This hotel is recommended for family with children (kids will enjoy the pool) but do not want to pay the price of a 5 star hotel like Sheraton, Jw marriott. Expect to stay in Laguna area as the resort is far from all the main beaches (patong, kata and karon) and attractions (phuket town, patong and Fantasea) unless you rent a car.

June 2008 - Phuket Trip Day 5

It was very windy and raining in the early morning on the last day of our trip. We should have slept longer.And yet, we still got up ready for breakfast as we need to catch our flight at 1.30pm.

June 2008 - Phuket Trip Day 4

We dropped off the ferry taxi at the nearest jetty to Lotus and had dinner there. I was too sleepy to pose.

I'm awake! At the right time to take a snap of this yellowish, orangy and reddish sunset. Very nice!

Appertizer - satay, onion rings, popiah, prawn cake and mango kerabu.

Garlic fried squid/calamari and mixed vege.

Steam grouper in soya sauce. Grouper is at 75 baht per 100 grams.

This meal cost dada another 1100 baht, inclusive of one apple juice, water and rice.

Resort shuttle back to our hotel. We both look very tired.

June 2008 - Phuket Trip Day 4

Buffet breakfast again. Same as last 2 days, mama gave me bread, porridge and fruits.

By noon, we went to the beach. I'm trying my new hat, it is slightly big.

We continued to the pool.

In the afternoon we went to patong again, jungceylon again. Dada said this place is easier to find parking therefore we came here few times. Another new hat from Jungceylon since the earlier one is slightly bigger. This one fits perfectly and cost 90 baht too.

June 2008 - Phuket Trip Day 3

In the evening, we drove to one of the pasar malam nearby to get some fruits. Mama bought some mangoes and rambutans for dada to eat at night.

Before going to Phuket, mama had read some reviews saying there is a restaurant called "Lotus" by the beachside of Sheraton Grande Resort which is highly recommended by tourists at Bang Tao area. Therefore, for dinner we drove to Sheraton with the aim of going to the restaurant from the beachside of Sheraton. We had no idea that Sheraton is so huge and from the main entrance of Sheraton to the beach area took us 10 minutes walking distance and to Lotus restaurant another 5 minutes beachside walk. Mama and dada were so tired walking while carrying me and my stuff. This is also the time where mama dropped my favourite pecifier. Luckily, mama brought 2 pecifiers otherwise dada will have to offer higher price to whoever willing to sell their pecifier to us.

Mama thought the restaurant is just a small beachside restaurant. Upon arrival, we noticed the restaurant is quite presentable and popular. One have to make reservation but since we arrived quite early, we have no problem getting a table. The restaurant was full while we were eating halfway.

Since mama and dada did not want to take the same route as coming to the restaurant, only upon asking dada realised the restaurant offers free transfer within the laguna area. Back to our room, dada had mango which mama bought from the local market. Of course i will not miss this opportunity as i love mangoes too. Dada gimme the whole mango please!!!!!!!

June 2008 - Phuket Trip Day 3

On the third and forth night we stayed at Laguna Beach Resort in Laguna, Bang Tao Bay. Dada bought the room at wotif.com for 3561 baht which dada thought was a great deal. Bang Tao is about 30 minutes drive from Kata Beach. Laguna is an integrated area with 6 resort hotels where you can use the facilities within the 6 resorts for free. One could travel within the 6 resorts by ferry taxi overseeing the lagoon or by the hotel shuttle which is also for free. Dada said all these already factored into the hotel rate. Therefore, not really "free".

Upon request, we were upgraded to a seaview room.

Once settled into our room. Dada saw anna, the hotel elephant at the pool area from our room. Dada and mama immediately carried me to meet anna.

Not long after that, we changed and headed straight to the pool. Laguna beach has a very very nice pool. The resort have a Water Park incorporating waterfalls, a water slide, Jacuzzi, swimming pools and a scuba pool.
